Danish treasurer Christoffer Valckendorff declares, that he allows Ambrosius Loring and Bernd Salfeld from Hamburg to trade in the harbours Stappe and Reff for one more year because the Council of the Realm has not met, but that they should request a proper renewal of their license next year.

Title on the back: Des herrn rentmeisters concess(io) Ambrosio Loring und Bernd Salfeld, ad annum auff Stappen.

The date is written in the document as "Montags nach dem heyligen Christage, des angehenden neun und atzigsten jars," which would be December 29, 1589. However, Loring and Salfeld received a license for three years in the last months of 1589 (15891108HAM00, 15891203KOB02), and their old licenses became invalid in 1588 (15860213HAM00). Therefore, it would be likely that this document was written before the summer of 1589, which is also in line with Valckendorf's statement about the "beginning 89th year." It is likely that he lets the year begin on Christmas.
