The so-called Seefahrtenbuch of Bruning Rulves has been lost since the Second World War. Its contents are only known from an article of J. Focke, Das Seefahrtenbuch des Brüning Rulves, Bremisches Jahrbuch 26 (1916), 91-144. In the article, Focke describes the contents of the book and cites passages from it, translated into high German. The transcripts he made of the original Low German text are still kept in the Focke-Museum. However, these only cover parts of the text.
