Lehe
Report that Hinrich Gossmann has returned from Shetland to Lehe with a cargo of salted fish, and has told that he had experienced a storm 20 miles north of Helgoland on the night of 13-14 September, in which they lost a small boat (‘chaloupe’) and two Shetland ponies, which were intended for the general-governor. The story was confirmed by three sailors Berendt Flügger from Schönebeck, Cordt Pundt from Lesum parish and Hinrich Busen from Lesum.

Burgomaster and city council of Stade issue a sea pass on behalf of Niclas Sauke for his ship Fortuna of 24 lasts, under command of skipper Bartholomaeus Evers, for a journey from the Schwinge to a harbour in Shetland with salt, beer, brandy, tobacco and fishing equipment, and back with salted fish and other commodities. Sauke sails along and will possibly stay in Shetland for reasons of trade.
