[Hamburg]

Proceedings of the negotiations between Hamburg and the English about the conflict in Iceland, in which it is claimed that the attacks happened on behalf of the Danish governour, and that the council of Hamburg will send a copy of the defense of Lutken Smith and Hans Hughen to the English king.

Die xix februarij, Senatus Hamburgensis, auditis his que jn Segeberg cum Oratore Anglico alijsque tractata essent, existimauit tandem cause finem constituendum esse Aduenientj itaque domino Oratorj post salutationem, commemorabantur ea acta summatim, et presertim quod sua prestantia coram audiuisset verum et justum esse defendendj presidium, scilicet hanc causam Jslandiensem ad Prefectum Regium, non ad Hamburgenses pertinere, nullaque jam opus viderj testium examinatione

Quantum ad Lutken Smith et Hans Hughen attineret, Senatus vellet defensionem eorum ex scripto editam domino Oratorj porrigere vnacum literis ad Regiam maistatem Senatorio ac publico nomine perferendis Que omnia, cum Obsequijs tum Senatus tum ciuium, ac totius Communitatis, diligenter ej commendata sunt.

Eodem die doctor Joannes oldendorp Sindicus Rostocensis, pro opera patrie sue exhibita, honorifice dimissus est.

Hic jnserantur litere Senatus ad Regem anglorum, et defensiones lutken Smith atque Hans Hughen.1
